WHAT WE DO

What We Do

SAGP is developing a digital mapping resource to provide the overview of the area in a spatial format. This means that a whole range of information about the local environment can be stored, used for analysis and presented not only in a form which can be easily understood but which is publicly accessible.

Surveys have been carried out by local volunteers to establish the baseline information database and it is hoped this will form the basis of a local green infrastructure strategy and support the development of neighbourhood plans in this area. It could also help to inform decisions about management of local greenspace and planning for green infrastructure over the longer term.

SAGP undertake planning and influencing work including monitoring planning applications and appeals, and responding to various consultations and get involved with workshops and awareness raising events to try to influence decision and policy making.

SAGP are also involved with local practical projects. These include the emergency scrub clearance at Lime Kiln Down; ongoing management at Middle Street Meadow, Harnham, and improving connectivity at Bishops Walk, Harnham
